Old Republic Radio #39: Deceptive Decption Trees
Hello Old Republic! This week we are back to business and talking about the game and not ourselves. Phew! In the Developer Dispatch we discuss if we are playing our Sith Assassins the way Bioware wants us to, the new speeder you can get for referring a friend, and why Operative do not have a pull ability. And if that wasn’t enough in Where We Have Been we discus life after level 50 and discuss what there is to do in SWTOR after you reach level cap as well as answering Tara’s burning question about endgame. Last but nor least your emails including feedback from episode 38, PvE and PvP gear and why you want a set of each, and how to become a millionaire in SWTOR. All of this plus a prize giveaway for our Games for Soldiers drive. Congratulations winners!

Woah, wait a minute. Assassins not only have Force Pull.. they also have Force Speed (150% in stealth AFAIR), and that’s Two effective gap closers.
Operatives on the other hand has one? (Slip away talent that increases his speed after using Debilitate, which cannot be used in steath.) Our only slow (2s root if talented), Sever Tendon, cannot be used from stealth to close the gap for our biggest opener. :/ In PVE it’s even worse if You run to a PUG group that just run through and You cant keep up to deliver the high damage abilities..
And this is why we should have had you on with Grates gone. thanks for the feedback!
Hey Guys love the show! During your last podcast I heard you guys talking about the new Kurtob Alliance speeder. I was one of the lucky ones who received my shinny new mount on day it was announced. Everything you guys mentioned was pretty much on par with one exception. The speeder is a rank 1 speeder, but the speed on it is the fastest in the game at 110% movement speed. Which means that if you purchase the legacy character perk “Improved Speeder Piloting I” you will at level 10 have the fastest speeder in the game. Which translates to, I do not have to purchase my rank 2 or 3 speeder piloting skills therefore saving my cheep @#! credits.
PS: I am so glad you guys are hooking up with Kat Taber’s Games for Soldiers charity. I work for the US Army as a civilian at the Tobyhanna Army Depot. In April 2010 I volunteered to deploy to Afghanistan. I have never served in the US armed forces before and it was a HUGE eye opening experience. The sacrifice that those Men and Women make to defend our freedom and the freedom of the host nations where they are stationed is truly extraordinary. I spent an entire year in Kandahar Afghanistan and during that time I can honestly say that the #1 way our soldiers like to unwind is playing video games and watching movies with their fellow battle buddies. For a precious few minutes they can forget about everything that soldiering requires of them and recharge their personal batteries. This enables them, when the time comes to focus more clearly at the dangerous tasks and missions they have been assigned to carry out, which ultimately allows them and their fellow soldiers to come home safe and sound to their families who love them. Everyone should be donating to this cause! Thank you for serving our War Fighter by championing this cause.
Assassin TANKS have force pull, madness and decpetion do not have it.
Oops your right I forgot I played my assassin as a tank for a long time. Thanks for the correction.
I’ve been listening to your show for a while and noticed how you guys and girl don’t seem to mind the gear grind for PVP or PVE gear. I recently got to level 50 and have been playing PVP on my jedi counselar and have earned 3 pieces of battlemaster gear so far. My question to you revolves around the Guild Wars II system of no gear grids. While I intend to keep playing SWTOR even after Guild Wars II comes out, I am very impressed with everything I’m hearing from ArenaNet regarding their non-gear based PVP. As a working adult that has altoholism, if I have to grind for gear vs. play an alt, the alt seems to always win. ArenaNet has said that they tailored their game for working adults who don’t have the time to grind for gear and want an equal shot when playing PVP. I wanted to get your thoughts on whether or not you feel an “equalized gear” PVP option should be made available for SWTOR and if not, why not. Sincerely, Indarra from The First Order on the Harbinger server.
PS – I hope to hear more segments from Tara. They are hilarious.
